Halloween brings the joy of trick-or-treating for kiddos and the temptation of candy for adults. What's so bad about our sugary snacks and are they really treats or subtly tricking us to want even more?
The problem is we aren't meant to enjoy sugar in concentrated amounts that we find in processed foods. Most Americans consume 17 teaspoons (71 grams) of sugar a day! The WHO recommendation is to consume no more than 6 teaspoons (25 grams) per day for women and 9 teaspoons (36 grams) per day for men.
It's time to overcome our dependence on sugar once and for all. With mindfulness and the right attitude, you can make changes and enjoy a lifetime of optimal health and vitality.
